External contributors

The plumber, the cleaning contractor, the landlord: the people who must fix things do not always have a Verifline account — and should not need one. That is what the contributor link is for.

Assigning to an external email

Section titled “Assigning to an external email”

In the action form, pick External email and enter the address. The person receives an email with their contribution link: a page showing them the action — title, description, photos — and letting them respond without an account: comment, attach photos, answer the closing questions where applicable.

Their messages land in the feed like a member’s, signed with their address — and you are notified of their replies, as they are of yours.

On the action’s detail, the Contributor link area:

  • Copy link — to pass it by SMS or any other channel;
  • Send by email — the email goes out (or again) to the address;
  • Regenerate — a new link replaces the old one, and the old link is dead: the gesture to make if the link travelled too far.
