Manage access
Publishing a template does not yet say who may use it. That is the job of access rules, carried by each template (the Access button — and the column of the same name, in the list, sums the situation up).
Two kinds of rule
Section titled “Two kinds of rule”| Rule | Grants the right to |
|---|---|
| Run | start inspections with this template |
| See results | read the inspections others carried out with this template |
Run does not imply See results: a contractor can fill the questionnaire without reading their colleagues’ inspections.
The five targets
Section titled “The five targets”Each rule aims at:
- All users — everyone in the organization;
- A site — those whose scope covers this site, and the template shows under “Templates usable here”;
- A group — the team’s members;
- A site + a group — the crossing of both (you need the group and the scope);
- A person — by name.
How it combines
Section titled “How it combines”Rules add up: several rules on one template open the union of their targets. And they do not bound managers — a person whose role carries Manage on inspections sees everything, rules or not.
