Action families

An action family is a template: it says what an action of that kind asks for — at creation, and at closing time. “Maintenance job” does not demand the same things as “HACCP deviation”.

The Action families screen

The family adds its fields to the creation form: Free text or Dropdown (your values), each optional or required. “Equipment no.”, “Zone”, “Failure type” — the information a title alone does not structure.

The family can ask up to five questions answered while working the action — and every question marked Required to close does what it says: the action cannot be moved to Done until it has an answer. “Cause identified?”, “Part replaced?” — closing proves the work instead of assuming it.

The gate holds for everyone: the assigned member and the external contributor answer the same questions, each through their own door.

Creating and editing families takes the manage families permission — distinct from day-to-day work on actions.
